Many year ago the Spirit began to show me the difference between rhetorical wisdom and Practical wisdom from the book of Ecclesiates. Night and day I would pray Father, give me practical wisdom not a rhetorical wisdom, until eventually I was given.
Rhetorical wisdom will make you look and sound clever with nothing to show for it. You can even use rhetorical wisdom to impress others or even give them sound counsel while you are sick, poor, confused and depressed.
“Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man. ” Ecclesiates 9:15
Practical Wisdom is the builders wisdom. It will benefits the carrier. It will reflect is family, health, finance and relationships. It will express itself in things people can see.
New Living Translation:
“So even though wisdom is better than strength, those who are wise will be despised if they are poor. What they say will not be appreciated for long.” Ecclesiates 9:16
Eventually Rhetorical wisdom without practical wisdom will lead to people eventually dispising your works.
